What challenges have you faced recently
and how have you overcome them?
A fellow paperhanger named Brian
ran into a problem hanging
wood veneer at
a conference center recently. Wood
veneer only comes in 9-foot
sheets and the height
of the walls was 12 feet. It’s crucial to put the seam in an area that’s
not going to be seen, above eye level. The way the lighting hits the wall is
also a factor. Prepping the wall with a high leveling primer fills voids, allowing
the veneer to set like it is one piece, not several. Heavy duty clay paste
skimmed on helps keep the evenness of the surface so the next sheet sits level
with the
first.
